My activity:
After introducing a list of new words with their L1 meaning, I kept the words on the board. I read the text which had the words in it and pointed to a word on the board every time it was mentioned. Later I asked the pupils to copy the list into their notebooks and they had to learn them for the next lesson. The next lesson the class worked in pairs. Every pair had a copy of the words and a separate paper with L1. they had to take turns in checking how many pairs of words they can match.
I think this was a good way to revise the words because they worked in pairs so it created a sense of competition do you mean cooperation? between them, it gave a chance for all of them to take part and no one felt embarrassed in front of the whole class and it gave them a sense of dependability and authority to check each other without feeling threatened by a test. A further revision on the same list was in the form of fill- in the blanks with a suitable word with the notebooks open infront of them. I like doing revision with open material because it reduces pressure and helps the pupils concentrate on the task at hand.
